Christmas Eve Lanterns

h1 Friday, December 28th, 2007

Every Christmas Eve, an entire neighborhood near the corner of Hall and Breton (In Grand Rapids, Michigan) puts paper lanterns along the road in front of their houses. People drive their cars (many with headlights off) through the winding roads to enjoy the sight.

I don’t know when this tradition started, but my mother-in -law says she remembers putting out the lanterns when she was a kid. If anyone can provide any more information about this beautiful tradition, please let me know.
