In this special video, my brother and I review six West Michigan India Pale Ale’s. The beers we review come from the following West Michigan breweries: Arcadia, Dark Horse, Founder’s, Bells, and New Holland.
I definitely agree on the verdict: Founder’s Centennial is by far tastier, complex, and robust than the rest. Mad Hatter borders on gross, and Two Hearted is way too tame.
Next time throw some Bell’s Hopslam and Founder’s Devil Dancer into the mix! They’re not quite IPAs, but are certainly hop-laden.
So, six open ales…I’m guessing it was a good evening.
hey!
i just loved your review of beer. you two seem to have had a great time infront of those beer bottles. i missed the authentic american “DRINK RESPONSIBLY” from you and your brother.
now that you pointed out that west Michigan is not just tulips, fish and blueberries, i’d say i ll swing by for one or the other beer

that Bell’s Two Hearted is a popular choice round these parts.
Mmmm. Beer. Good.
I learned two things from this video.
1) West Michigan is known not only for blueberries, tulips, and fish, but also for microbrews.
2) I know nothing about West Michigan.
I bought myself some of the Centennial for xmas and was sorry it was only a six pack. Will have to look around for the others.
Hi Joel! Remember me?

experiment, experiment, experiment! (craig hospital education department’s motto – but they were talking about something else…)
How about another beer review? Something dark for the winter season?
